 Finding my way (Jessie's entrance)
« Thread Started on Jun 24, 2008, 12:25pm »

The loud snores from the seven other girls was what woke her. At least if questioned why she was up so late she would state the fact.

But the truth was Jessie had woken after yet another nightmare, one that had been plaguing her since her baby sister was kidnapped.

Not kidnapped recruited the thought bounced around Jessie's head until she shook it loose.
It was silly to believe in fairy tales at the age of 17 and it was more silly to believe that her sister was anything but kidnapped.

Sighing Jessie swung her legs out from beneath the covers and hissed when her bare feet touched the cold floor. During the summer the cold floor was bearable but during the winter when the headmistress demanded all the girls in bed by 11 pm it was a nightmare.

Jessie pulled her sneakers to her and slipped her feet in, letting the breath she was holding to flood out of her before she flung the covers back and padded to the window.
The moon was high and her only visible company for this night which suited Jessie.

A girl snorted in her sleep and Jessie rolled her eyes and prop her head on her upturned hand, watching the night scene.
The woods laid still in the moonlight, the grass showed it's first signs of being kissed by dew.

At first all seemed so peaceful and still out side but a sudden movement caught Jessie's cool blue eyes. There below the window was a gray wolf... the same gray wolf that had been prowling around the grounds for several weeks now.

Sneaking a glance over her shoulders Jessie made sure her fellow dorm mates were fast asleep before she turned and sprinted back to her bed. Grabbing her jeans and a jumper she quickly changed out of her bed clothes and rushed out of the dorms.

The outside air nipped and bit at Jessie's face once she made it out of the school and on to the grounds.
Luck must have been on her side tonight, the night guard was snoring soundly at his post.

Slipping through the shadows Jessie made her way to the woods and hopefully where the wolf was. Luck reared its head once more as Jessie rounded a corner she found standing there as though waiting for her was a gray wolf.

Tilting it's head the wolf studied her for a moment, it's bright green eyes alive with intelligence that seemed out of place for a mere animal.

They quickly it turned and rushed head first into the woods, Jessie barely knew what she was doing before her legs carried her forwards after the wolf.
The branches moved in as she ran to follow the wolf, the cold wind blinded her but still Jessie carried on.

For some unknown reason something was propelling her forward after the wolf.

Fearing she had lost the wolf she was startled to find him sitting in a clearing, waiting for her. Gasping she stood watching the creature.

"Why humans are very slow to take a hint"
A voice echoed around Jessie's head making her reel backwards.

"yo-yo-you talk" Jessie questioned out loud as the wolf rubbed a paw against his muzzle and gave Jessie a look.

"In your land no... I can not speak, simply transmit my thoughts"
The wolf admitted before standing and pacing back and forth.

"I have been watching you for several weeks now Jessie... do you still believe in Mediocris"
The wolf questioned as Jessie frowned and shook her head.

"That was just a fairy tale" Jessie replied as the wolf snorted out loud but laughed gently in Jessie's mind.

"So you are willing to talk to a wolf but you are not so willing to believe in another land"
the wolf questioned in an amused tone. Jessie opened her mouth but quickly snapped it shut.

"It matters not my dear child... the time has come for you to start believing again... believe in everything you were once told and come with me"
the wolf ordered walking up to Jessie and staring at her with intensity that no animal could ever hold.

"Go where and who are you" Jessie demanded as the wolf bowed before her.

"My name is Over seer... I am a warlock and guardian of Mediocris"
Over seer introduced before he stood up again and nuzzled Jessie's hand.

"And to Mediocris is where you must go now... not for me but for Prince Theo, for his army is ready.... but not just for him but for Katie, your sister needs you now"
Over Seer declared before he turned and rushed towards the undergrowth leaving no room for doubt in Jessie that she had to follow.

Her sister needed her and she was sure she had been waiting all these years just for this moment alone.
