'Blast, these trees...' Theo had wandered in a denser part of the forest, with overgrown bushes, hanging vines, and thick branches preventing clear passage. They had been walking for a day or so, but suprisingly, he wasn't tired. But the forest seemed endless, and he was feeling a bit discouraged. "Heath?" he called back, swinging his sword as the overgorwth to cut a clearer path, "How are you holding up?"

Heath wasn't doing too well. He wasn't tired, or even discouraged, Just hungry. He kept it to himself, and forced a half cheerful response. "Just fine, milord. We should be out of here, soon, if I remember correctly. In a few minutes, I believe."

Thank goodness...He started moving a bit faster, encouraged by the words. As he moved, he though of Overseer. No doubt he would be angry with him... he always was for running off on his own permission without warning.Time dragged on, slowly, driving his impatient mind almost mad. He brushed his bangs out of his eyes, and tried to create small talk, to pass time. "I wonder if Lyric is well. She would usually send word, but hasn't for a few days..." He noticed the worried tone that had snuck into his voice, and cleared his throat. "She's probably fine, just busy or something of the sort. She's a sharp girl. Besides, we're meeting up with her in the town, right?

He grinned. How much more obvious could he get? "Yes, we should not to soon from now. She said she'd meet us outside town, right after the forest ends. I'm sure she's fine though, milord." He watched the prince for awhile, and when he kept silent, he added, quietly. "You miss her, don't you? You ask about her every day and fret over her wellbeing... and your worrying makes you unable to eat. I feel...there's more there, milord..." He hoped he wasn't being too bold. They usually shared secrets and things, but never about women. It just hadn't comc up before. Maybe the prince was uncomfortable speaking about it with him...

Theo cringed. Of course he would catch something like that. He sighed, stopping and looking back at him
"I'm worried. It's been on my mind, Lowen...I... I'm supposed to be a king. A man of war, to restore Medoicris to a new golden age... but Lady Lyric has been in my thoughts a lot, lately, since she left..."
He looked thuroughly emberassed, but it felt good to be able to talk it out with someone. Lowen was the best canidate.

"You're allowed to fall in love, milord" he said, pointing his lance forward as a sign to press on, "I'm sure you'll be fine once you see her again, eh? Besides, I can't blame you. She's a pretty lass, very kindhearted and devoted. Who knows? She may be able to help you rule the kingdom one day, by your side."

He smiled, and nodded. "Who knows..." He traveled faster and in better spirits, a faint smile on his face. Knowing he'd see Lyric again brightened his mood, and his friend's understanding made every doubt go away. "Look... I see an opening..." he said, eyes lighting with excitement as he made his way towards it.

Lyirc sat facing the village, knees drawn to he chin. She was worried about the prince finding out about her wounds, becasue he would worry. She wanted him to have full attention of the news she had for him. The sound of breaking branches made her turn and stand suddenly, and she unintentionally smiled. She could sense them. They were here...

When he finally got out of the forest, he sighed, like he was taking his first breath of fresh air. His eyes unexpectedly met the eyes of Lyirc. And he smiled. "Lyrica..." he said, and mentally kicked himself for the dazed tone of his voice, "Er... hello, Lady Lyric. Are you well? We hadn't heard from you in ages." He heard Heath behind him, fighting to get through the overgrowth towards them.

Heath stumbled wearily out of the woods, hands on his knees as he stood by Theo, catching his breath "Thank goodness we're out of there..." he said, then looked up to Lyirc with a smile, "Well, hello there stranger, where have you been?"

Lyric blushed, smiling at Lowen and bowing to the both of them. "Milord, my prince" she said, folding her hands in front of her and bowing her head, "Forgive me for not sending word. I ran into a but of... trouble." She felt a bit of pain from her wound, but refused to show it on her face. "Has Overseer found out that you... left?" she said, with a bit of a smirk. She knew he would be annoyed with the boys for leaving, but as understanding as always.

Lowen scratched the back of his head, looking innocently at the prince. "You did tell him, didn't you Theo? You told Overseer we'd be going, right?". He knew both Lyric and Theo would know he was bluffing. When did they tell him when they were going? They were going to get it when they saw him again, that was certian.

Theo glared at Lowen, until he realized he was only joking. Smiling, he hit him in the back of the head, laughing. "I'll just tell him you talked me into it" he said, then smiled at Lyric. He was captivated for a moment, by her simple beauty, then said, "We'll be fine, he'll get mad for a few, scold us, then forgive is. Happens every time..." He looked out at the nearby town, and then back to Lyric. She said she was fine, but he wasn't so sure...

Lyric noticed the prince looking oddly at her, and raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. He probably noticed that she was hurt, and probably by the way she walked. Looking off towards the village, she said, "Well, he already knows. You're to be meeting him in an abandoned cabin. He has Cherris with him." She smiled, waiting for their reactions.
