Isabella walked towards the water, eyes alight with excitement. She couldn't believe this was happening. Real live mermaids all around her... The Overseer had told her about them, but also told her not to get close. Apparantly, they weren't like the kind on Disney... She sat on shore, knees drawn to ehr chin, looking out at the water with her imagination running wild.

[ ] Charlie has been angry at the lose of his friend... every since Foxy's human form was brought back to the campsite he felt the anger boil up in him. He should have stayed with the fox no matter what... he's always getting himself into trouble.
With a twist Charlie reminded himself that he couldn't speak about Foxy in the present tense... he was gone and Charlie would get his revenge for the innocent creature.
Heading to the sea he decided to find some sort of sick peace near where Foxy had died, instead he found a young girl sitting there watching the sea. Swallowing the hard lump in his throat after all his time thinking about Foxy he approached the girl with the hopes of not scaring her.
"You know you shouldn't be so close to the sea" Charlie warned standing a distance away from the girl.

She jumped, and looked back, her eyes widening upon seeing him. Being new to Mediocris, everything amazed her still. Seeing the young man's sword, her mind instantly screamed "KNIGHT!" "Are you... a knight?" she asked, standing and moving towards him a little, eyes wide with childlike wonder. She was currently oblivious to the sad look in his face.

Hearing the talking of humans, Melody swam closer to the shore. She popped her head up out of the water so that all that could be seen of her was her eyes and above. There were two of them. One girl and a man. By the looks of him she could tell he was on the good side, Overseers side. She noticed that he was sad just by his facial features.
Swimming over to a rock very near the shore she placed her self on it. Laying her arms on the top and her head resting on her arms. The rest of her body being hidden. "What's wrong armor boy," she asked tilting her head to the side.

Charlie laughed a little at the girls question before he sat beside her. "No I'm not a knight... I'm a fighter" Charlie admitted not fighting the urge to smile at her innocence.
"You must be new here" Charlie admitted before a mermaid appeared and he quickly moved his hand to his sword.
"My name is Charlie... and nothing is wrong" Charlie stated feeling no need to be on the defence as Mermaids were friendly enough creatures. Besides he didn't want to about why he had come out here anyway.

Melody looked at him and then frowned. "I know something is wrong. You look sad," she replied. She studied him for a moment. "I won't bother you anymore about it though if you don't want me to," she said giving him a half smile, "and my name is Melody. It's very nice to meet you Charlie."

"A fighter's just as cool" she marveled. She waved at the mermaid, smiling brightly. "Hi, I'm Isabella and yeah, I'm new... wow are you a mermaid, Melody?" she said, attention turning to the girl, though she hadn't addressed her yet. She was a good listener. "You're sure pretty enough to be one!" Even through her childlike wonder, she noticed that the soldier looked a little sad. Smile fading into a worried frow, she asked, "Are you sure Mister Charlie? You don't look so good..."

Melody looked at the girl and smiled. "Well, hello Isabella," she replied. She lifted her fin out of the water for the girl to see, "and yes I am a mermaid," she laughed, "and you're pretty yourself." She smiled once more to the girl and then looked back at Charlie her smile fading again.
